  • In all honesty, I was very skeptical of this type of medicine for a long time. After all, we are taught in school to find what is wrong with a patient and prescribe medication that they “need” and may have to take life-long. Sometimes these medications cause side effects, so we prescribe another medication to help alleviate those effects. It seems to be a vicious cycle.

After studying how functional medicine works, my eyes were opened to a whole new way of caring for my patients, my family, and most importantly myself. I never realized there were so many other lab tests that could be completed, that we don’t do as primary care providers, that can provide more in-depth insight about a patient’s overall picture of health.

  • A Functional Medicine approach requires time and commitment. Not only does it include an in-depth lab review to find the cause of your illness, but it also involves incorporating positive lifestyle changes for lasting results.

  • Great News! All services are offered online, from the comfort of your own home. No need to arrange a sitter, tote the kids around, or take a day off of work. The only stipulation is you MUST reside in the state of Texas.

  • No.

The reason why, first and foremost, is most insurance does not cover functional medicine.

Second, insurance regulates the length of appointments, as well as what can be discussed during one visit. This greatly restricts the overall care that can be provided during an appointment.

  • I began my medical carrier as a Registered Nurse in 2007 and then obtained my Master’s Degree and Family Nurse Practitioner certification in 2021 and I received my Functional Medicine certification in 2024. Combined, that’s almost 20 years of experience in healthcare!

  • Let’s talk! I know this may not be the right plan for everyone, and that is OK! Just schedule a free, no-charge consult with us. We would love to talk with you!

  • If we have difficulty with your care, rest assured. We have access to other practitioners and physicians that are certified in Functional Medicine. If needed, we will work together to collaborate and find the root cause of your illness and find a solution that is right for you, at no extra cost.
